Facebook delivers Lite version to US and India

Facebook has been gearing up to launch a lighter version of the site for a couple of months now, and it seems as though users in the US and India can now get their hands on it.

Facebook Lite will strip out all of the boxes and applications, and simply allows users to write on walls, post status updates and upload pictures and video; i.e. the core features of the social network.

We made our feelings clear on the subject; users needed a way to cut all of the excess away to make the site run faster on slower connection speeds (or for mobile broadband access), but still have the functionality when needed.

Their test markets are the US and India at the moment, but we don't reckon it'll be long before it starts to move internationally. If you're an American reader, then head over there and give us your thoughts!
