Posted by Steve on Tue, 02 Mar 2010 09:14:13 UTC There's been various rumours and spy-shots flying around the internet in the past few months that Nokia was gearing up to offer a stripped-down, slim and small smartphone, dubbed; the C5. Well, the company has just publicly announced it, and it's packing some heat.Whilst the company has always been committed to Symbian on their higher-end devices, it looks now to be trickling down to the small ones as the C5 runs the S60 3rd Edition of the mobile OS, meaning it should hook up nicely with the apps available on the platform - including the free GPS software; Ovi Maps (although other Ovi products weren't mentioned in the release). Plus, it's small. Only 12mm thick, it crams in a 2.2" screen as well as a battery good enough for 26 days of standby and a microSD slot ready for up to 16GB cards. Before all taxes and subsidies, they're hoping to get it out there in Q2 for €135, which could be a tasty proposition. [Nokia Conversations] (via Electric Pig) comments powered by Disqus |
