TweetDeck, one of the most popular Desktop and iPhone/iPad clients for Twitter, has just announced that they're going to be developing an HTML5 web-based client which will mean that anyone with any kind of web-enabled phone will be able to get a consistent experience when using the client on their device of choice.

They also confirmed that they are looking an avenues on Android (they tease that they'll reveal more on that soon), but it seems that for all of the other platforms (BlackBerry, webOS, Linux etc...) they're going to be focussed on the new mobile-web variant in order to provide consistent support and upgrades across all of the (now fragmented) mobile space.

TweetDeck Mobile Web is also geared to work on really slimmed-down devices, so there'll be no processor problems when viewing it from the new featurephone-meets-smartphone market. Testing begins shortly, and with the pace of web-development, we should see it launch quickly with a furious update schedule.
