ROCCAT Sense![]() As a follow-up to our exclusive hands-on with ROCCAT’s new mouse pad, we bring you the definitive look at one of the more promising pads in the pro-gaming arena. E-Sports are becoming a major thing nowadays, and with all of this emerging talent, we need the products to back up their abilities. In much the same way a footballer relies on cutting edge design from their boots and the ball, a pro-gamer needs their rig, mouse, keyboard and pad all working as one to make sure they can play to the optimum. That is where ROCCAT comes in. From seemingly nowhere, they have generated a great deal of talk in the industry due to their cool designs and technical know-how to create some of the most anticipated peripherals we’re likely to see this year, with the Kone mouse and Valo keyboard as well as today’s item, then Sense mouse pad. ![]() As I said in the hands-on, the surface is very fast, quite like a Razer Mantis Speed in fingertip texture, but unlike anything else in mouse feel. This seems to be due to the thinness of the unit which means there is very little give, resulting in the mouse not getting bogged down as pressure is applied from above. This, for my gaming style is a good thing, but with the availability of control pads on the market shows, it might not be for everyone. The size of the unit is very good for gaming in my opinion. About the size of an A3 piece of paper (maybe slightly smaller), it even fits on my coffee table next to my laptop for some lounge gaming sessions. Again, this is a good thing for myself as I play with my Copperhead at extra-sensitivity, but might be an issue for someone who is used to playing on a small-car-sized pad like some gamers I know. A really nice mouse pad, smooth, easy to use, and at £20 – the perfect addition to a gamers arsenal. |
