Dixx Lite Putter![]() As golfers, we know that continual practice of the basics is what is required to survive out on the course, and to not embarass yourself. As well as this, you must also realise that driving isn't the most important aspect of your game, as the old saying goes 'drive for show, putt for dough'. We look at a very promising putting aid, the Dixx Lite. As will be blatantly obvious to anyone opening the box up, this isn't a normal putter, or a normal putting aide for that matter, as it contains a small screen on top that spews off all kinds of information about your stroke. Sensors in the head allow the club to monitor stability and stroke angle/speed allowing it to show you where your strike is going wrong, whether the club is unsettled before you even pull back, or whether you're coming in at an angle causing the ball to spear off away from the hole. This basic functionality of the club is perfect. With a deft flick of the wrist you can set-it up for a new shot, and can focus on what the information from the last was telling you did wrong, allowing you to not make the mistake again. This really does work, it's nothing fancy, just information on how and what happens when you hit the ball, so you can work on straighter lines and smoother swings, and for this basic usage the gyroscopic control system works fine. My main complaint about the unit is the complex menu system for accessing more in-depth data and all-time information. The wrist twisting controls really begin to irritate when browsing through these menus, and do mean that accessing this useful well of knowledge is a chore as opposed to 'just working' like it should. Maybe two or three extra hardware buttons would rectify this problem completely, allowing for navigation without any hindrance. In all, this is a very good training aid and has actually really helped keep my focus on putts bringing my score down, but due to the navigation controls it can't be a whole-hearted recommendation. It's a fair bit of change to buy it, but it is an investment in your game and who can put a price on a perfect putt? |
