Bunker Mentality Stella Golf Bag

Any regular reader will know that we have quite a number of golf equipment reviews on the site, and have even extended into the golf lifestyle at certain points. If that wasn't enough warning then, we like golf.
Plain and simple. However, what we don't like is the rather uptight vision of the sport extended by certain stereotypes. Therefore to break that mould and set us golfers free we have companies like Bunker Mentality, and we look at their popular Stella Golf Bag offering.

When opening the large plain box, you're met with the rather brilliant bright blue of the bag, finished with a slightly glossy look and perfect white accents that will challenge any other bag for style on the course, even before you get to the little white images of a girl in a bikini on the back and side. It has a sturdy black base, and two folding legs finished in metallic black and silver.

It's split into six club compartments, two large ones at the top and bottom of the opening, and four smaller ones in the middle, and although they don't extend all the way to the bottom, the clubs rarely get entangled (even with a full compliment of 14). There isn't a lot more to be said on the club holding side of the bag, it holds them sturdily, and the padded dividers mean that there is a lack of annoying steel-on-steel or graphite-on-graphite rubbing that can be noticed on some (including some manufacturer bags).

The bag also includes four decent pockets, two large for wet weather gear and other such items, a smaller ball box holder on the back (behind the silhouette of the bikini clad girl), and a pocket that some would use as a ball pocket, but is just large enough for a mobile, wallet and car keys, so is perfect as a personal effects one. All of the zips are top quality, and seal effectively.

Bunker Mentality also throw in a popper-cover to attach to the top, as well as two strap types. One of these is a traditional mono-strap that is comfortable but is slightly too long for myself meaning the clubs point nearly horizontal, and the other is one of the more recent rucksack-style dual-strap setup that makes carrying over larger distances more comfortable (it is perhaps even better when being used on one of the dual-straps than the mono one).

Can I recommend this bag? You bet. Perhaps I should have disclosed at the start, this is actually my personal golf bag, ordered through an online retailer and paid for in GBP, so my recommendation comes from proper personal experience.
